<span class="text_heading">Persons entitled to Invalidity Benefit<br>
</span></span>An insured person, who is unable to perform his work due to poor health or invalidity or, based upon a specific certificate of SSO’s Medical Board, will be entitled to receive an invalidity benefit.</p>
<p><span class="text_heading">Eligibility to Invalidity Benefit<br>
</span>To get entitled to Invalidity Benefit, contributions will have to be paid for a minimum of 5 years. Upon reaching 60 years of age, the invalidity benefit will cease and changed into a retirement pension of the same amount. Persons already receiving an invalidity benefit will not be entitled to receive a sickness benefit or other benefits for the same purpose.</p>
<p><span class="text_heading">Calculation of Invalidity Benefit<br>
</span>The invalidity benefit is going to be assessed in a similar manner as the retirement pension. However, the number of years of invalidity until the age of retirement will be considered as insured years. From the start of invalidity to the age of retirement, insured persons will be given pension points on an annual basis equal to the average pension points gained for the years prior to the invalidity.</p>
<p><span class="text_heading">Caretaker Benefit</span><br>
In the case the immobilized invalid person requires permanent care, the caretaker will be entitled to receive a specific caretaker benefit.</p>
<p><span class="text_heading">Medical Examination<br>
</span>Before applying for an invalidity benefit, insured persons will have to undergo a medical examination with an accredited physician. In case hospitalization is necessary for monitoring and examination, SSO will take in charge these expenses.</p>
<p><span class="text_heading">Medical Care<br>
</span>If a medical treatment may help to improve the health status of sick persons, SSO will disburse the costs for such treatment. Such support may be rejected if the treatment would cause suffer, hazard or high risk to the insured persons’ health. If the insured person refuses to undergo treatment without justification, their invalidity benefit will be reduced or terminated.<span class="text_heading">

<p><span class="text_heading">Health Rehabilitation<br>
</span>Invalid persons, who are entitled to receive benefits from SSO, might have to undergo rehabilitation with the rehabilitation center designated by SSO. All costs will be covered based upon the regulations of SSO. <br>
