Second Branch of SSO Opened

  An opening ceremony of the second branch office of SSO, chaired by Mr. Somchai Phonsinouan, a Deputy Provincial Governor of Khammouan took place in 19 December 2006 in the province. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Lay Kakannga, a Vice-Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Board of Directors and Medical Board. It was also attended by civil servants from different sections involved around the province including the provincial hospital, district hospitals and other invited guests.   Khammouan has about 64 target enterprises with 8,000 employees who have to be governed by Degree 207/PM. Regarding the provision of the medical treatments for these employees and their family members the provincial hospital is a main contractor with SSO to provide such treatments, whereas three other district hospitals are under sub-contract with the provincial hospital .

Lao Social Security Organization (SSO) plays a significant role in ASSA

On December 19 - 23, 2005, SSO held a seminar on Health Insurance and Hospital Financing at Vansana Hotel Nam Ngum Resort, Vientiane province. 40 people participated in the seminar, representing SSO Board of Directors, SSO Medical Board, SSO Executives, SSO Technical Officers, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, and contracted hospitals of SSO.
